Baby Hayes is 6 Months Old today!
We can't believe that he is halfway through the first year of his life! Derek and I went through all the pictures on our computer of him last night and are just amazed how much he has changed and how fast the time is passing.
Today, we had his 6 month check-up and everything looks great! He is turning out to be a tall and skinny guy weighing 15 lbs, 11oz and measuring 27.13 inches in height!
This month, Hayes has been eating his rice cereal in the mornings and evenings. He prefers it mixed with breast milk, but we are experimenting mixing the cereal with other things now. We are down to nursing mostly 4 times throughout the day and will start with solid baby foods tomorrow!
We are putting him down at 7:30pm or 8:00pm each night and he is sleeping for 11 to 12 hour stretches! He still is very active in his crib and starts on one side and ends up on the other each night. He also has a new favorite sleep position that we call "the frog". He looks absolutely precious with his little legs tucked underneath him with his bottom up in the air!
Playtime has gotten so fun this month. His new favorite activity is to jump in his jumperoo! He would jump for hours if we would let him and completely wears himself out! It's hilarious to watch his expressions and how excited he gets when he does a "big" jump. He is so active and rarely wants to sit still. Ironically, he seems to love playing on his stomach the best these days. He has become very curious and wants to hold and grab everything. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING (even a newly discovered body part..........)!!
His overall demeanor is so happy. He is constantly smiling, laughing and babbling. He makes the funniest sound effects and facial expressions! He seems to love preschool and playing with other babies.
