Charlie: 13 Months Old

Today, Charlie is 13 Months!

It has been a really big month because Charlie is now walking!  It is crazy to see him go from a baby to a toddler!  He is eating pretty much everything and saying more words everyday.  He can now say Dada, Mama, Bye, Ball, etc.  He also started school for the first time this month which has been going great!  His teachers say that he has the best personality and especially loves playing on the playground.  Now that he can walk, he LOVES just meandering outside and picking up leaves, sticks, etc.   It's fun to see him able to really start playing with other babies and even Hayes!  Here are some pics of our big boy this month:

Soccer

This month, Hayes started his first sport, soccer!  He is playing in the U4 division on the black team at the YMCA.  Of course, Derek got suckered in to being the coach so it has become quite the family outing both on Thursday nights for practice and at games on Saturdays.   Three year old soccer has turned out to be very comical!  They all start out great and then decide that they would rather sit on the sides and have snacks: )  It could possibly be a tad too early to start organized sports, but it has been a great way to introduce Hayes to playing on a team.  He especially loves running through the tunnel and eating snacks with his new soccer friends after each game!

Below are a few pictures from the first month:

Back to School!

Today was the first day of school for the boys!  It is Hayes' third year at Brentwood Young Children's School and Charlie's very first year!  Hayes has Ms. Toni and Ms. Linda in the 3 year old class and Charlie has Ms. Anile (who Hayes had also!), Ms. Stacey and Ms. Karen.  They will both be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year.  Getting them dressed and ready for the first day was a little stressful but thankfully Derek helped me get them to school the first day.  Although we couldn't get a great first day shot, the boys both had a wonderful day!
