Our White Christmas

We had a great weekend celebrating Hayes' 1st Christmas!!  What a memory of his very first Christmas having snow!!  We decided to stay home for Christmas to start our own traditions with our new little family.  We still managed to spend time with all three sets of parents!!  Derek's dad and Mary came in town a few days before Christmas and we went to Opryland Hotel to have dinner and look at the lights.  On Christmas Eve, we attended the service at our church and then came home and ate Chili and desserts while watching some old Christmas movies and playing "Holiday trivia".  Christmas morning we opened gifts from "Santa" and then headed to my parents house for brunch and more gifts.  Christmas afternoon Derek's mom and Jim braved the weather and came in town.  We all had a great time even though I was sick!!  Below are the pictures I took:

A Burger Family Christmas

Each Christmas, we get together with my mother's side of the family (The Burgers).  It consists of my mom and her brother, his wife and their two children and their families.  Although this tradition usually occurs on Christmas night, we moved it just for this year to the weekend before since my cousin and his family were going to be out of town.  Below are a few pics of the festivities:

Here is my mother and her brother, Dr. Burger.  Yes, my mom is wearing a Santa headband and she wanted to clarify that it is actually NOT a headband for a dog.....

We are all so excited to have Jenny Beth home for a full week this Christmas!

Here she is helping Hayes play with one of his new toys
