Summing up September

September has been a busy month!  The boys have gotten adjusted to school and our fall routine.  We had lots of fun except for Charlie's accident on the gator!  Some of the highlights of our month include:

September Soccer

Hayes decided to play soccer this Fall and is on the Blue team!  His interest level has been hit or miss once again this season.  He wanted to be #4 since he is 4 years old.  Thankfully that number was available!  One thing is for sure, Charlie is dying to play soccer!  In fact, he thinks he is actually on the team!   Below are some of the pictures from this month:

Marianna's Dedication

Today was Marianna's baby dedication at our church!  We were excited that all of her grandparents were able to be there.  My dad read her life verse at the service and presented Marianna with her great grandmother's (Marianna Burger) bible.  We chose to give her the same life verse that we gave the boys which was also Derek's life verse that his parents gave him.  Now we have adopted it as our family verse!

Proverbs 3: 5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."

Below is the paragraph that was read at the service as well as the pictures from the day:

"The day we found out that we were expecting baby #3 we were surprised, excited, and terrified all at the same time!  We couldn’t believe that our family was going to expand once again!

At our 20-week ultrasound, I just knew we were going to find out that it was another boy.  To my surprise and great delight, the ultrasound tech confirmed that this baby was indeed a girl!  We immediately knew what her name would be since it had been our “girl option” for both of our other pregnancies.

After a super quick delivery, our Marianna Kate arrived on June 3rd weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches in length

She is lovingly named after two of her great grandmothers, Marianna Burger and Bonnie Kate Scarbrough.  Today she is wearing a gown given by her maternal grandmother, Melinda Snyder, that both of her big brothers also wore in their dedication services in this very room.

We praise Jesus for our precious little girl and are so thankful that we can trust in Him for the plans of our life.  We pray that God will use us to lead Marianna to him, and that she will one day trust in the Lord with all of her heart."
