Summer Play Days

Today was the last day of Summer Play Days!  Hayes and Charlie's teachers were kind enough to send the below pictures home...

Boys of the Summer...

Our July has been action-packed despite having a new born!  We have tried our best to keep the boys busy each day and worn out for bed time!

Throughout June and July the boys have been going to "Summer Play Days" at our church on Tuesdays and Thursdays which they have loved.  On Wednesdays, our babysitter Amy (who is an absolute God send) has been taking the boys to the park and story time at the library.  They are obsessed with Ms. Amy and stand by the door each Wednesday morning and wait for her!  The rest of our month was filled with swimming, playing outside at our house, a few playdates and playing with my mom on Thursday afternoons.  We also celebrated Sam's 2nd birthday at My Gym!

It's so fun to see the boys relationship grow.  They definitely have their fights, but the love between them is so evident.  Hayes tells us that Charlie is his best friend and Charlie wants to be just like Hayes. Every morning, Hayes will go in Charlie's room, get in his crib, and they play and sing.  It is truly the sweetest thing:)

Charlie: 23 Months

Today, Charlie is 23 Months old!  

It's hard to believe that he is almost 2!  

This month, despite fighting a cold, he has grown physically as well as verbally.  He is talking more and more each day!  He loves singing his ABC's, The Wheels on the Bus and especially loves The Muffin Man!  He is cracking us up with what he is saying lately. Whenever anything doesn't work, he holds it up and says "batteries"?  He still absolutely LOVES Marianna and enjoys kissing her and saying her name which sounds like, "manana".  

His little personality continues to come out more and more.  He can be sweet as can be one minute, and mean as a snake the next!  He wants to be a big boy like Hayes all the time and refuses to eat in his high chair.  He wants to do everything on his own and is infatuated with buckling things (car seats, bouncy seat, etc.)  Charlie is really into legos lately and anything he can put together.  However  his favorite toy is the toilet cleaner brush which he refers to as his "sword".  

Charlie really loves music lately and loves to show us his dance moves.  But most of all, he loves playing with his big brother Hayes who he calls "Hayes Man".  He can definitely hold his own these days with Hayes and has found a few ways to get his way with him including pulling his hair!

We are loving our sweet blonde boy and watching him grow each day!  

6 Week Check-up

Today I had my 6 week postpartum check up with Dr. Morgan.  Since she wasn't on call to deliver Marianna, I wanted to get a picture with her and her nurse!  Once again, they were amazing throughout my entire pregnancy and I will miss seeing them!

Harriman Visit

Derek was able to take a few days off of work and took both boys to Harriman for a long weekend!  Despite Charlie being sick, they had a great time swimming and going to Dollywood!  Charlie even loved the rides and only cried when it was time to get off!  I was very appreciative to have a little break at home with the baby:)
