Charlie: 8 Months

While we were at the beach, Charlie turned 8 Months!

At eight months, Charlie has become quite mobile!  While not "officially crawling", he sure can get around!  He is army crawling, rolling and does a "worm" type move that gets him pretty much anywhere he wants to go.  He is also pushing up in a "pike" style position on his hands and feet with his bottom up in the air!

Charlie wants nothing to do with the jumperoo or the exersaucer lately.  He just wants down and gets really frustrated as he is working so hard on the floor!  He loves being outdoors and just looking around whether it be in the swing, stroller or wagon.

Since turning 8 months, he has learned to sit up on his own from a laying down position.  It is so funny to see him on the monitor in the mornings just sitting up!

Charlie is down to nursing just 4 times a day and eating breakfast, lunch and dinner.  He is doing so much better with his baby food!  He is going to bed around 7:30pm and sleeping to around 7am each morning.  He is also down to just two naps a day which are about 2 hours each at 9:30am and around 2:30pm each day.

We are so thankful for our happy little guy!  He smiles and laughs all the time and has the best demeanor and little personality.  We love hearing him "talk" to us and make all sorts of interesting little sounds!

Below is a little video of a typical "meal time" with sweet Charlie!  Please ignore my antics as well as all the food on his face and Hayes' old bib!!

April Randomness

Some fun things we've been doing in April included spending lots of time outside at home with friends!

Hayes also went bowling for the first time at Lucy's 3rd Birthday Party!

And Charlie has been loving riding in the cart at the Grocery Store...

We bought a "bath seat" so the boys could start taking baths together!

Fun times driving the car at Publix...

Somebody really wanted a cookie too...

Hayes rode the bikes at Inside Out Play Park...

And somebody has been rolling all over the place!

We particularly loved this note from Hayes' teacher this month :)

Swim Lessons

Over the last 3 weeks, Hayes has been taking swim lessons!  We have been going to Miss Anna's swim school located at Blue Water Scuba in Cool Springs for his thirty minute lesson every day.  Hayes seemed to really love it and especially liked his "swim friends" Emmy, Oscar and Sam.  It was really great that they had the indoor pool to themselves and had two really wonderful teachers (Ms. Elizabeth & Ms. Vanessa).

Here he is on his first day...

On the last day, the parents were invited in to watch.  Apparently, I made Hayes nervous but Derek did not!  So I stole some of his pictures...

Getting his ribbon and treat...

Meanwhile, Charlie was the waiting room entertainment each day!

Elton John Concert

Last night, Derek and I had a much needed "date night" to see Elton John in concert!  It was not a concert we would have normally rushed out to buy tickets for, but Derek's boss had asked us to entertain some clients.  The couple was actually really fun and we went to a really nice dinner before as well!  The concert was amazing from start to finish with little to no "fluff".  Just Elton, his piano and back up band and singers. We were surprised at how many songs we were actually familiar with!

I busted out the sequins for Elton...

Easter Recap

We have had a fun time celebrating Easter which included some egg dying...

And two egg hunts the Saturday before Easter.  The first hunt was my hometown friends and their families that we hosted at our house!

Hayes was on a mission...

Charlie enjoyed his very first egg hunt!

There were tons of eggs everywhere (thanks to Derek who stuffed and hid them all!)...

Such sweet little friends...

The whole gang (minus Charlie and Crosby :)

And the "Parent Paparazzi!"

The rain held off long enough for the kids to play outside and for Derek to grill some yummy hamburgers and hot dogs!

The second hunt was our neighborhood hunt.  Hayes was really not messing around for this one...

Bunny Hats!

On Sunday morning the Easter Bunny came!

Charlie especially liked his new baby sesame books...

And the bunny thought Hayes needed some "big boy" underwear...

Although I think his favorite was the bunny pez machine...

Several tries for the perfect picture of our boys after church...

Sweet Charlie on his very first Easter!

And my favorite of the bunch...
