36 Week Ultrasound

This morning, we had our 36 Week Ultrasound and Check-Up on baby Charlie!  We were thrilled to find out that he looks perfectly healthy and on-track for 36 weeks.  He is measuring about 6 pounds and our doctor thinks he will be at least a pound bigger than Hayes was (6.12).  Our ultrasound technician got some pretty good pictures of Charlie that we think look a lot like Hayes!

As for me, i'm 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced!  Dr. Morgan thinks he could come anytime at this point.

Beating the Heat

Well, July has been HOT to say the very least!  Thankfully, we have had lots of fun stuff to keep us busy mostly indoors.

Vacation Bible School

Hayes and I spent all of last week at VBS!  

I helped teach the 5 year olds with some other girls from our Sunday School class, so Hayes got to go as well!  Here is a little glimpse of our rambunctious class...

4th of July

We kicked off the 4th of July festivities watching the Brentwood Country Club Fireworks from our front yard on Tuesday night!  We had a great view and my parents came over to watch them with us.  We weren't too sure how Hayes would do, but he loved them!  He kept on exclaiming, "Wow", "Amazing", and "Great!"

On Wednesday morning (the 4th) we headed to my parents house to swim and eat BBQ with Brandon, Ashley, Rhodes and Emerson.  Since I was in the pool the majority of the day, I didn't get very many pictures!  Here is Hayes swimming with "Papa Chuck"...

23 Months

 Today, Hayes is 23 months old! 

 I can't believe this is my last monthly update before his second birthday!  Oh, how the time is flying!  Again, this month has been all about his advancing vocabulary and emerging little personality!  He is saying all sorts of words and phrases now and most the time Derek and I don't even know where he heard them!  Some of our favorites lately have been, "amazing", "delicious" and "Mama, are you?"  He can now tell you that "Charlie" is his little brother and likes to go in "Charlie's room".  When you ask him where Charlie is he points to his own belly!  Obviously, he is a little confused!   

His little personality has come out in a big way lately as well!  He loves playing and does not want to stop for anything (ie; diaper changes, changing clothes, getting in and out of the high chair, car seat, etc.)  He has mastered counting to 10 and is working on getting to 20.  Now that he can identify the entire alphabet, he is now starting to be able to sing his ABC's which is precious!  We think he might be a really musical child.  Each time music comes on, he jumps up and starts dancing and yells "MOVES"!  I'm not sure where he is getting his dance moves, but some of them look very similar to some of Derek's...
