6 Week Update!!

This past weekend (the beginning of wk 6 of our pregnancy) we headed to Washington DC for Caitlin's wedding.  We had a great time and were able to do some sight seeing as well!  It was really difficult being around our friends and not being able to spill the beans about "BB" or "Baby Bland"!!  Below are some pics from the weekend.

Below is some information from Babycenter.com about Week 6:

How your baby's growing:

This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.

Neyland's 1st Birthday Party!

So we celebrated Neyland Ferrell Blands 1st Birthday at the Edwin Warner Dog Park on Saturday September 13th.  (His actual Bday is on the 15th...)  He had such a great time with his best buddies Dodger & Zeus.  Patrick & Kim, Jacob & Valerie, Happy & Karlyn and his grandparents were all there to celebrate!  Below are some pics of the festivities:

Labor Day 2009=Baby Day!

Derek and I spent Labor Day weekend in Kansas City visiting our dear friends Ashley & Luke Hochevar and Christia & Dustin Colquitt. We had such a great time at the baseball games and eating dinner at the Colquitts on Sunday night. My arms are still sore from playing WII Cheer!!

On Monday afternoon (Labor Day) we flew home and got in to Nashville at about 3:30pm. I had a weird feeling all weekend and decided to take a pregnancy test. After two very positive tests, we were in disbelief that it had actually happened!

Of course being the planners that we are, we immediately decided to buy every possible book on eating, parenting, ect. We also went out for a celebratory dinner and spent 10 minutes deciding on what I should eat that would be best for the baby! We also decided to go ahead and get on a few day care waiting lists since I heard it can be quite the process.

Tuesday morning on my way in to work, I called and scheduled the first ultrasound that will be on October 7th. They also informed me that my due date will be May 15th, 2010!! Craziness!!

Nonetheless, we feel so incredibly blessed and excited! It all feels so surreal-I actually had Derek pinch me! Labor Day's in the Bland home will never be the same. They will always be remembered as the day we found out about our first born!
