Chicago

Derek and I returned home tonight from a 4-day getaway to Chicago!  Our friends Luke and Ashley were going to be there for the baseball game, so we thought it was a perfect excuse to take our first trip, as a couple, without Hayes.  We arrived Friday evening and had dinner with Ashley at "The Grille" which was next to our hotel (The Westin).  Saturday morning, we woke up and shopped around for a while and then met up with Ashley and Luke for lunch at a great Italian restaurant called "Carmines".  Saturday night, we headed to the baseball field to see Luke pitch against the White Sox!!  He did a great job and it was so fun to see him play.

Sunday morning, Derek and I decided to visit the Navy Pier and took the architectural boat tour to see the city.  It was beautiful!!

On Sunday night, Derek and I treated ourselves to a "date night" and had dinner at a great sushi place called "Nomi".  The views of the city were incredible from our table.  Here is a picture I tried to take that didn't really turn out that great...

Afterwards, Derek surprised me with a carriage ride around the city!!  It was so fun!  On Monday, we ate lunch and decided to go see a movie (since we never get to do that anymore!)  We saw "The Help" which was one of the few books I have read in the last couple of years that wasn't baby related.  I definitely recommend seeing it!

We flew home on Monday night and were greeted by my parents and sweet little Hayes who we missed SO MUCH!!  I'm not sure if he was excited to see us or sad to leave my parents!   They had a big time all weekend and went to the Williamson County Fair and to the train display at Cheekwood.  Here are some pics of their weekend while we were away...
