Happy Birthday, Hayes!

Today is Hayes' first birthday!  It is so hard to believe that it has been a year since our sweet son came into the world.  This morning, we started our day with his typical breakfast of a banana, waffle and yogurt!  He is such a happy boy especially in the mornings...

Afterwards, we headed to "The Monkey's Treehouse" for a play date with Kim and Audrey!

After lunch, we went to see Dr. Leeper for his official one year check-up.  He weighed in at 20 lbs, 5 ounces and measured 30.88 inches tall!  Once daddy got home, we ate dinner and took Hayes to try ice cream for the first time.  I think he liked it!!

This year has been so incredible and each month with him keeps getting better and better!  Hayes has finally started saying "Mama" after months of only saying "Dada" and "Ne Ne".  His favorite game over the last month is "Peekaboo" and he plays it CONSTANTLY especially while sitting in the high chair.  He hides behind curtains, books, toys, etc.  The most precious thing is when he puts his arm over his eyes to hide!  After a game of peekaboo, he always laughs and claps his hands.  Another favorite activity of his this month has been dancing!  When a song comes on that he likes he will start bouncing up and down and says "dance dance dance" (or at least it SOUNDS like that is what he is saying!)

He is eating really great lately despite being incredibly messy!  He loves feeding Neyland and Neyland has become the best "clean up committee" member ever!  Hayes started drinking whole milk this week and should be completely done with nursing in the next couple of weeks.  Below are a few pics from over the last month:

Dear Hayes,

Happy first birthday!  We are so thankful for your life and are incredibly blessed to be your parents.  We are so in love with you and your fun-loving personality.  We wish for you the utmost happiness in life and hope you never stop smiling, laughing and melting all of our hearts.

Love,
Mommy & Daddy
