We just got home from a very last minute trip to the beach! We had initially thought about a possible fall beach trip. But after really thinking about it, we decided to go ahead and go before preschool and fall activities started. We got an amazing deal on a 3 bed/3 bath condo in Blue Mountain Beach on 30a at a newer resort called "Redfish Village"! We had a huge pool basically to ourselves with a playground and rode the golf cart to the beach across the street each day. We managed to fit everything in the car including a full size swing, bouncer, crib, stroller, beach toys, cooler full of legos, etc!
Each day we would go down to the beach and Marianna would have her morning nap on the sand. The ocean was warm enough to swim in it and we had a couple days of little to no waves. It was like a swimming pool! After the beach, I would take Marianna inside to nurse while Derek and the boys went to the pool for a bit. We would eat lunch, do baths, and put the boys down for naps. Both Hayes and Charlie took an almost 3 hour nap every day! Afterwards, we would go to an early dinner and then do some sort of activity. There were no waits at restaurants and hardly any crowds anywhere! We went to all of our favorite 30a restaurants and spent one night eating and playing at Sandestin. The boys especially loved the "Sugar Shack" in Rosemary Beach, the Alys beach playground and playing on the beach at night. The last day, we drove to Destin and went to the "Gulfarium". While we were there, we celebrated Charlie's 2nd birthday with doughnuts on the 28th!
All in all, the trip was way more relaxing than we had anticipated. The boys had a blast and Marianna was a trooper! Below are our pics from the week:
