A Memorable Mother's Day

Sunday was my first Mother's Day to spend with baby Hayes!  It felt really weird to include myself in the Mother's Day festivities this year.  I mean, how could I ever get a gift any better than Hayes?!  Anyway, we went out to a nice lunch at Saphire in the Factory @ Franklin with my parents.  After lunch, Derek surprised me with a trip here...

Third Coast Clay is also located in the Factory @ Franklin and is a fun little ceramic studio where you can design and paint on your own.  Derek said that he wanted to make my first Mother's Day extra memorable and wanted Hayes to make me something that I would always have to remind me of the day.  So Hayes got to work and made me this...

I feel so blessed to be this little guy's mommy!!

Being a mom has taught me so much even in the short period of time that I have been one.  Most of all, it has made me appreciate my mom so much more and understand the meaning of unconditional love.  There is truly no one that is there for you like your own mother.  Even at 29 years old, I still need my mom more than ever!!  Thank you mom for always being there for me and for being a wonderful Grandmother to Hayes.  Here is me and my mom on Mother's Day...

Of course, Gran Melin and Papa Chuck had to get Hayes a little treat from the adorable toy store we passed on our way out...

Loving on Elmo...

I also am so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother-in-law who raised such a sweet and thoughtful son, husband and amazing father!  We all missed you this Mother's Day and thank you for being such a great Granny to Hayes as well!

Happy Mother's Day!!
