Charlie's Big Boy Bed!

Over the holidays, we moved Charlie to a big boy bed!  We really didn't think we would be dealing with the transition this soon, especially since Hayes was in the crib until 3!  Charlie is very athletic, so it shouldn't have surprised us that he started crawling out so soon.  I REALLY didn't want to give him this freedom quite yet, so our first step was removing the bottom of the crib frame and sitting the mattress literally on the floor.  We thought this would buy us some time, but Charlie continued to get out with no effort at all!  So reluctantly, we popped the front off of the crib and turned it into a toddler bed.  We moved the video monitor into Charlie's room and put a child lock on the inside so he couldn't roam the house at night.  The first couple of nights he woke up extremely early but just played quietly in his room until we came and got him.  It really wasn't so bad at all!  Derek and I got too confident the weekend after Christmas and decided to try the boys together in Hayes' room since Charlie had been doing so well.  After 2 hours of trying to get the boys to lay down, they finally went to sleep.  At 4am, we heard Charlie screaming Hayes' name to wake up and play!  Derek went in and ended up sleeping the rest of the morning with Charlie.   We decided to "table" the whole sharing a room thing until Charlie is older!
